Tom & D.

First time home buyers and my neighbors, D. and Tom closed on this Portland gem today. I used to watch them walk their kids to school each morning. I feel so lucky to have been able to oversee this transaction and so grateful that they picked me as an advocate. This was an unusual transaction for a number of reasons -- such as, we were given early access to the property before closing. Since this was an FHA-approved loan certain updates and upgrades had to be made for it to pass the required guidelines. And this house did need a facelift. We replaced some of the plumbing and all the electrical was updated before closing! 80% of the original wallpaper is gone, and the walls and ceiling are now primed and painted. Tom and D. and I put in about 80 hours of work getting the place ready on top of their full time jobs, parenting, and packing. I miss them in the neighborhood already.
